TRU (Thermal Recovery Unit) Waste to Energy

TRU (Thermal Recovery Unit) Waste to Energy Tube. Duration : 6.15 Mins.

wasterenew.com Solid and liquid waste is filling our world at a rate most of us can't comprehend. Municipal and industrial entities generate millions of tonnes of waste every year. Due to increasing regulations fewer types of waste are now accepted at landfill's. While the public has shown interest in alternative forms of power generation, there has been little commercialization of these alternatives. Renewable resources generate less than 2% of all electricity today. But there is a solution The Thermal Recovery Unit (or TRU). The TRU is designed for businesses and governments to solve their waste management problems. The TRU stands above other recycling technologies, with its high efficiency, versatility and economic benefits. The processing method of the Thermal Recovery Unit is unique. The solid waste is first shredded and blended. It is then fed through an air-lock system to ensure an oxygen deficient environment in the retort chamber. Because the TRU can process solid and liquid waste simultaneously a pump can also introduce sludge and liquids into the same chamber. The TRU then heats the waste materials to temperatures up to 1850 degrees Fahrenheit or 1010 degrees centigrade. Waste materials are never incinerated but rather gasified by continuous exposure to high indirect temperatures. The processing rate of waste materials in the retort chamber varies depending on the composition of the material. The waste remains in the retort chamber until all volatile material ...
