TIVM Information: The TIVM is an oil-free positive displacement expander utilizing rotating rings of vanes whose intersections dynamically create expansion chambers. As such, the TIVM is more akin to a piston-cylinder system, operating on a volume change with an efficiency that is maintained even at low steam flows. The positive displacement nature of the machine allows it to operate at low speeds (1800-3600 rpm) at which condensation and water droplets will not damage components eliminating the necessity for dry/superheated steam which is a requirement of turbine devices.
